Team Europe vs. Sweden, 1 p.m. ET, ESPN/ESPN3/WatchESPN app

The Swedes did what most everyone expected them to do, which was to at least win Group B. Despite the depth of talent in their preliminary group, the Swedes used their depth and solid goaltending to get through with five points in the standings. Their lone slip up was a 4-3 loss in overtime to Team North America, which Sweden had to mount a comeback in just to salvage the standings point that clinched them the group.

Europe, meanwhile, has looked impressive aside from their loss to Canada in the preliminary-round finale. They shut out Team USA in the tournament opener and then beat the Czechs in overtime to secure their spot. Head coach Ralph Krueger has this team playing a very structured brand of hockey, while they possess enough skill up front to catch teams’ mistakes.

Sweden may not be a bad matchup for Europe in the semis. With this portion of the tournament being single elimination, playing their stifling team defense and getting another great performance out of Jaroslav Halak in net could give them a chance.
